Today’s post is part of a blog hop with several jewelry artist friends from the Jewelry Artisans Proboard online community, a fun forum to discuss ideas, show off your creations, admire those of others, solve dilemmas…
This months’s topic:
The project of your dreams
That really got me thinking. I am having so much fun learning and experimenting, honestly, I have no idea how far or where my creative journey will take me.
As my skills evolve and I gain more confidence in design, those “dream projects” change as well. The only thing I know for sure at this point is that it will likely never be just one, but always several different projects that I would consider dream-worthy.
This past Christmas season I had the opportunity to create some very special pieces for some very special people. And one of my customers, who purchased a bracelet from my Etsy shop for his daughter, shared with me that she had been admiring the bracelet online for some time. I was elated at the thought that one of my creations should be so special to someone else, because they all sure are to me!
So, I suppose, those are the projects I would consider “dream projects” – knowing that so many pieces of my heart and soul, thought and consideration and at times tears, sweat and frustration, have made someone happy, yep, they are my dreams come true.
And they continue to push me along, make me want to spread my artistic wings further and with greater confidence. I have made a conscious decision to never just fall into a trap of mindlessly cranking out cheaper pieces that would likely sell with much greater frequency. It’s taken me a long time to find my way into jewelry making and now I am curious to see where my artistic journey will take me rather than try to make a fast buck.
So today, I would like to share just a few pics, snippets of what I’ve been up to lately. My hope, as always is for each and everyone of them to find loving homes and to be treasured for ever.
I am still working on the heart pendant necklace. I’ll let you know when it’s done:)
And I hope you’ll check out my fellow blogger’s posts.
I am delighted to have found such a lovely, funny, not to mention, creative group to share my journey.
As always, I love hearing from you and hope you’ll take a moment to pop over to my facebook page and give it a big fat LIKE it would make my day :)
