Are you as tired of being cooped up inside as I am? Maybe you live where it is perpetually warm and sunny, but I don’t, and I am so excited that Spring has sprung – yipeeee!
With it come, of course, the inevitable yard chores, the labor intensive effort to wrestle mother nature for control over the back yard once again:) But to me, just hearing the birds chirp and being able to open the windows makes it all worth it!
With all the fresh new green and countless colorful blossoms sprouting up all around, I cannot help but be at once inspired and in awe! I don’t need look much farther than my own neighborhood to admire amazing and timeless color combinations that are sure to never go out of style! And I know by incorporating them into my jewelry designs I simply cannot go wrong! So, here are some color combinations I am loving right now – and really always, with natures inspiration:
I adore the color of Robin’s eggs, always have. Pair that with the warm hues of patina copper and voila…
How about these gorgeous yellow tulips? They continue to thrive in my flower beds despite tireless efforts by our squirrels to eradicate them year after year!
These earrings always remind me of my indestructible tulips. The fun yellow glass beads even have tiny flowers on them!
Who can resist the beauty of cherry or plum blossoms?
Here is one of several pairs of earrings I have created that remind me of them.
Irises have to be one of my all time favorite blossoms! They come in so many gorgeous colors, but these I can’t wait to adore each Spring!
The deeply saturated purple always reminds me of velvet the color of amethyst…
These are just a few of my pieces inspired directly by nature. Other inspirations? Architecture, mountains, vistas, sunsets, beaches, birds, butterflies… Just look around ! There is beauty in nearly everything and with a little imagination it can be transformed into something equally gorgeous!
Just for fun I poked around the blogosphere to see how Mother Nature’s inspires other designers. So I invite you to pop on over to these blogs to see what they have found!

I’m interested in knowing whether or not yoga inspired jewelry works. Do you have much experience with making those? my wife thinks that it will increase our spirituality, but I’m not sure what the hype is all about.
Well, I don’t know anything about increasing spirituality related to yoga inspired jewelry. For me creating items that relate to the practice of yoga is really just another outward and visual expression of the things you love.
